Nursing students at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth participated in an interprofessional disaster simulation which included a standardized patient with IDD. Nursing students are also exposed to clients with disabilities and intellectual and developmental disabilities during their Community Health course and Community Health clinical rotations, as well as a selective fellowship coordinated by Allison P. Edwards, DrPH, MS, RN.
